Downloading the theme files

Once a purchase is completed with your chosen theme, you will be able to download your WordPress theme as a .zip file.

There are two (2) ways to download a purchased theme. Let's quickly review them.

WordPress.com users: if you have an active hosting plan at WordPress.com, and you are using one of our premium themes from a WordPress.com themes collection, please see this information.

Download from purchase receipt

After the purchase, you will receive a purchase receipt on the email address provided at checkout.

This email includes a temporary download link to your purchased theme. You can download your theme files by clicking on the link in the purchase receipt email we've sent you.

If the link is expired then you can still download the files using the Themes Harbor dashboard [ see instructions below].

Download from Themes Harbor

You can connect at any time to your account at Themes Harbor, and download your purchased theme from there.

  1. Login to the Themes Harbor dashboard. Note, Themes Harbor automatically creates an account for you after the purchase. The account information is sent to the email address provided at checkout.
  2. In the Themes Harbor dashboard, find your theme in the list and click a link next to the theme title to download the theme files.

Notes

Below you can find additional information that might be helpful for you regarding the process of downloading the theme files.

Emails from Themes Harbor

If you are missing emails from us, please check your email account’s Spam or Junk folder to ensure the message was not filtered.

If the message was filtered, you may find an option to ‘Mark as good‘, ‘Not Spam‘, ‘Not junk‘, or ‘Add sender to white-list.’ This will aid in receiving future emails from Themes Harbor.

If you still cannot find these emails (account information and purchase receipt), please contact us and we will be happy to help you!

File format

Unfortunately, premium WordPress themes cannot be installed the same as free themes located in WordPress.org theme repository.

Themes that aren’t hosted on the WordPress.org theme repository need to be install manually.

The easiest way to install a theme manually is by uploading a .zip file. This is the reason why our themes, and many other themes, are delivered as .zip files.

Note: If you are using a Mac and Safari as your primary browser, you might need to change your preferences in Safari in order to stop unzipping the file automatically.
More information about this can be found here. Alternatively, you can use a different browser (Chrome, Firefox or Edge) to download the theme files.
