Managing Comments
Comments play an important role in almost every website because it allows to get an immediate feedback from the readers. Fortunately, WordPress comes with great tools to manage the comments on your website.
Configuring Comments Settings
The available settings for managing your comments are listed under Settings → Discussion tab in your WordPress Dashboard.
Moderating Comments
Moderation of your comments can be done via the WordPress Dashboard. Simply navigate to the Comments tab. On that page, you will see the list of all the comments from your website. There are several options that you can apply to the comment: you can either approve or edit or mark as spam or delete the comment.
Disabling Comments on the Specific Page or Post
You can easily turn off comments for a single page or post in the WordPress Dashboard. To disable comments on the specific page or post, please follow these steps:
- Go to Pages→ All Pages and hover over the page where you want to disable the comments.
- There will appear some links underneath the title where you can click on the Edit link.
- Scroll down to the "Discussion" box, where you will find the comment options for that page. If you don't see a "Discussion" box, then click on Screen Options at the top of your screen, and make sure the "Discussion" checkbox is checked.
- Update your page.
Disabling Comments on the Entire Website
If you want to globally disable comments on your website, then you can use Disable Comments plugin. Note, use this plugin if you don't want comments at all on your site (or on certain post types). Don't use it if you want to selectively disable comments on individual posts.
