Importing a demo content
By default, a WordPress theme does not include a sample content as seen in the theme demo. However, if you would like to install your theme’s demo content to be used as a guide, you can do so by following instructions below.
For some people, importing the theme’s demo content can be helpful to see how the theme works and to have a great starting point to make your website. You’ll be able to delete everything at any time and only keep what you need.
Note: The demo content import works best when importing the content into a fresh WordPress install. We do not recommend to import demo content if you have existing content in your WordPress installation.
Demo content
The demo content of the theme is located inside a .zip file. You need to extract this archive on your computer and only upload the .xml file in WordPress.
Find your theme in the list below, and click on it. You will be redirected to GitHub where you can find the latest version of a sample content including instructions on how to download demo content onto your computer.
Note: The demo content only covers blog posts, pages, and (if supported) testimonials, projects and other custom post types. It does not cover the theme settings, so you'll have to configure Menus, Widgets, Theme Options manually depending on the theme features. Please check the relevant theme documentation to see how to configure your theme.
Import via WordPress Importer
In your WordPress dashboard:
- Navigate to: Tools → Import.
- Under WordPress, if you haven’t already installed the importer, click Install Now.
- Click the Run Importer link.

- Follow the instructions on screen.
Depending on your hosting company, the import may take awhile or may require repeat steps.
