The Breaking News: Additional functionalities from plugins

The Breaking News comes with a support for some plugins described in the beginning of this documentation. These plugins extend the functionality of the theme by providing additional features.

Breadcrumbs (Yoast SEO)

A breadcrumb is a small text path which is located at the top of a page. Yoast SEO plugin comes with an option to display this SEO friendly navigation on your site.

Note, you do not need to add any code or to modify the theme files in order to display Yoast BreadCrumbs. The theme supports it by default. You just need to enable it the Yoast SEO settings.

Twitter link in the post header section (Yoast SEO)

By default, WordPress does not provide an option to save your a Twitter username. This problem can be solved by using Yoast SEO. Once the plugin is activated on your site, you can navigate to Users → Your Profile in a dashboard, and add your Twitter username in the Contact Info section.

Share buttons (Jetpack)

If you need to have share buttons on your site, then you can use a special module from Jetpack. There is no need to add any code to display these buttons. Simply activate and configure the share module.

Related Posts (Jetpack)

The theme comes with a special support for the Related Posts section that comes from Jetpack. This section is shown below the post content in single post views. To start using Related Posts, navigate to Jetpack → Settings → Traffic page and activate “Show related content after posts” option in the Related posts section.

Widget Visibility (Jetpack)

This module allows you to control the visibility of your widgets on particular posts or pages. For example, you can hide all the widgets located in the sidebar, so they are not shown on the blog page. As a result, the sidebar will be hidden on your blog page but other pages will display the sidebar.

Please see Widget Visibility documentation page for further information about this module and its options.

Infinite Scroll (Jetpack)

By default, WordPress does not provide Infinite Scroll functionality but you can have it on your site by using Jetpack. The Breaking News comes with a support for this module. Go to Jetpack → Settings → Writing in your site’s Dashboard and look under the “Theme enhancements” section to enable Infinite Scroll.
